In 2004 the U.S. Catholic bishops began a multi-year initiative to call attention to the importance of married life for the Church and society. See the website here. They urged all of us who
are church to become a community of hope and help for marriages. In Massachusetts the bishops are working with the MA Catholic Conference, Family Ministry and Pro-Life
offices to implement practices and resources to carry out the goal of the National Pastoral Initiative for Marriage.
At a time when people are asking "Why does marriage matter? Why choose to get married? Why work to stay married?," we hope that you will join us in daily prayer for marriages and famiy life.
